how can i stay mad at you?

thanks for the comments on the last post,  it's nice to know that i am not the only person living with crazy little people.  if a three year old can get to me, what am i going to do when i have crazy little 12 and 13 year olds running around acting all nuts?  i think that is why little people's bad behavior gets to me- i get really paranoid that they are going to be crazy teenagers and i feel like i have to teach them now so i am not kicking myself later.  make sense?

anyways, i tried really hard to catch velzy doing good things today and give her lots of praise. just like we learned in the school of ed: 7 praises for every 1 correction.  glad i learned something there...

anyways,  i have nothing else to talk about.

oh wait, yes i do!  drumroll please.....

ivy is potty trained!
she has not had an accident in almost a week and she even tells me when she has to go now.  i didn't want to type it sooner for fear of jinxing myself.  that and i didn't really think she was potty trained cause she just clicked with it one day.  last tuesday she was fighting me to sit on the potty and the next day she was running into the bathroom and doing it herself.   so it's safe to say she is good and potty trained.  yippee!  do you know how happy i am to not have to buy diapers?  so stoked!

wahoo! that seems fast- cause i wasn't doing it probably. ;)
nice job mama and Ivy!

i know what you mean always thinking 10 years down the road- but its the way to be, cause they are going to drive us nuts NO MATTER what, but if we can at least get through to them NOW that we love them and expect the best from them, it might be a little better in good ole' 2019, right? lets check in then and see. -k- im sure we'll probably just lament about how cute and sweet and easy they were "back then"... just gotta live in the moment. :)

That's awesome!! I am ready to potty train Karyl but am not quite sure which method to attempt! Someone sent me the 3 day potty training book and that was good in theory but seemed extreme...how did you do it??

I could have written your last post. It sounds like my life. Good job moving on and focusing on the positive. I need to remember to do that. I can't believe Ivy is potty trained. Good job! I need to work on Zeke. He's slacking!

good work ivy--i'm getting pumped up for cruzer...
i am freaked about teenagers too, i'm hoping to get karma for the type of teenager i was, but i trip about if they don't listen, talk back, etc. now--what are they going to be like in 10-15 yrs? ahhhhh.

Awesome Ivy! Isn't that a relief!

Balance and coordination are exactly the reasons why we put Islay in ballet. It has really helped her which makes it worth it. Gymnastics or hula would probably do the same thing though.

Yes Oahu 2010 is on! Get ready for us to crash...

Sometimes on the really long hard days I think that these are the days and years I'll sit back and play, "remember how sweet/cute/wonderful/easy it all was." cuz word on the street is it only gets harder. Yikes. I hope whining is the worst of it :)

Oh! Your last entry made me laugh!! It is really true...it should be the terrible threes!
Congrats on the potty training though. Diapers are so stinkin expensive(esp. newborn diapers!!)

Yay Ivy! Maybe when we are at your house Niki can watch by example. Congrats.
Love your pictures. You are so perdy.

Ditto on your last post. Twos are a breeze compared to threes! By the way, I love that picture of Velzy. You have to put that one up in the house somewhere. Seriously adorable!

You don't even know how jealous I am! Mia will be three at the end of June and wants nothing to do with it. UGGG! She's gone on the potty, but only when SHE feels like it. I hope she gets it soon!
