the cool kids

there is a new club at our house- it is the cool kids club- comprised of luke and velzy. it's the peanut butter club. they think they are so cool eating their peanut butter and jelly, or peanut butter and banana sandwiches, while i am left to eat bread with butter and jam.
no peanuts for me- i am allergic.
it all started a few days ago when luke came home from work and had is usual apple with peanut butter for a snack. velzy always takes an apple slice or two and eats happily, but not last friday, no way. she needed peanut butter on her apple so we decided to test the waters and she if she was allergic or not. a few bites of apple and a lot of peanut butter later there was no rash and velzy had a new favorite treat. so favorite that she had pb sandwiches for lunch and dinner yesterday- yuck.luke is stoked to have a new buddy to eat peanut butter with. i caught him telling velz "velzy, we will always have peanut butter. that's something your mom can never take away from us" ok, it sounds lame once i wrote it, but it was really funny at the time.
anyways, as nasty as i think peanut butter is i am so happy that she can eat it- how easy is it to pack a pb sandwich with you wherever you go? and how happy am i now that i don't have to worry that she is going to randomly get some pb and have some crazy reaction? very.

I didn't know you are allergic to peanuts. SO sorry. There are a lot of things with peanuts hidden in them, huh? Or "prepared on equipment shared with peanuts".

Stacy is a PB nut, too. At night, he will make 3 slices of bread with pb on it for his "snack". It's so annoying if we are watching a movie or TV. That PB snacking is SO gross.

Anyway, at least it's easy and cheap AND very portable for lunch.

That is cool! I mean that they have a club, not that you're allergic!!!

I kinda think peanut allergies are so scary. Can you still make the sandwiches for her? Or is it a super bad allergy?

When I first looked at the picture, I thought they started the No shirt required club! HA, she looks so dang cute and happy!

I love pb too. Can you be around it if you are allergic? There was a student at our school who said she couldn't even be in the same room or else she'd break out into a rash. I must say I think she was being a little dramatic because I swear I saw her sitting at recess with a girl eating pb and crackers!!!

Well, I'm glad V isn't allergic. I was worried Trent might be too, but luckily he's not.

Hi Ashley. You probably don't remember me. I was in your ward at BYUHawaii back in the day. I was just browsing around other people's blogs and I saw Luke's face. Your kids are really cute. I saw on your blog that Zack got married. Please tell him I said congrats! Thanks!

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches save my life. It has got to be the best thing ever. Whenever I'm out of ideas it's PB&J. Whenever we are on the go, it's PB&J. Whenever we are out of other foods, it's PB&J.

I'm sorry you can't eat peanut butter. It is so delicious. Bummer.
