i quilt, i quilted, i'm a quilter

so here it is...my second little quilt. it's my first one all on my own without my mom to help me pin things and give me advice when i am scared i am ruining things. velzy was not willing to model this afternoon so her newborn cabbage patch kid did, and yes, she is of african decent. luke has a thing for angelina jolie-and so we thought we be like her and branch out by adopting a little african baby of our own.
my friend betsy,(sister-in-law actually but i think the term "in-law" is lame) is going to have her first baby in march and so this is for her little girl. i really like how it came out. the quilting took quite a few nap times to finish, but it was worth it. i wish that i could sew pretty curvy lines, but for now with my novice skills, i am sticking to different geometric designs with only straight lines.

now i just have to figure out what i want to do for our baby...the choices are so endless, and i am the most indecisive person on the planet these days... oh, and if any of you know what movie i tweaked a quote from for this posts title, you are my honorary best friend for the day.

Have no idea what movie that's from, but it sounds vaguely familiar. Actually, it sounds like it's from a movie my husband would watch!

Love the quilt. You are very crafty with scrap booking and quilting and sewing. I love it!

Oh, but the last post,I'm sad to admit that I recognized that from Scar Face! Yup my husband goes around quoting that movie too!

That is a dang cute quilt. I kind of did those same colors in the quilt I made for Taylor when she was born. Good job! That is hilarious about the little black cabbage patch kid. Your husband sounds funny!
