i feel like a cheater

but i am a happy cheater. and why do i feel like i am cheating? becuase this is velzy sitting in her carseat- not making a noise (and sporting a smootie mustache) watching baby einstein. luke's bro gave us a portable dvd player for christmas because velzy has never been one to enjoy car rides. it's karma coming full circle, cause i was a butt to my mom back in the day. so now, when luke and i really don't want to hear it, or know she is tired, or have a long distance to cover- we grab the dvd player. like i said, we are cheaters, but happy ones. and think of how much smarter we are getting by listening to classical music.

i tried to get a little photo shoot in today, but velzy is not one for staying put when she is outdoors, and would not look at me for the world. her little jean jacket with a sweater under was too cute though, i had to take a picture.

I love Velzy. She is so rad.

Isn't it amazing how tv sucks the little ones in? It's not all bad. Ethan learned all of his letters, including sounds from a Leap Frog dvd.

I haven't read your blog in so long. I am going to add your link to my blog. I love the birdies. That is so cute. I love the colors you chose.
Also, I don't know why you feel like a cheater. The portable DVD player is one of the greatest inventions of all time. When we were driving home from Utah, I was so proud over the fact that Trent doesn't need a movie to keep himself entertained when 5 minutes after this thought crossed my mind, he started freaking out. Out came the DVD player and Baby Mozart and we had the most quiet, peaceful drive home. Love it. And the classical music is great.

So Scary! Makena....4 months old.....LOVES the tv. Well, it could be that my husband picked out this ridiculous 85 footer (exageration) and it's all you can see in our living room.

Don't feel like a cheater. You have to do what works. Otherwise we would all go crazy.

Cute Velzy! As I'm typing this my Summer is engrossed in da-da-da-da-da-Dora! We took our portable DVD on the plane ride to Colorado in Jan. and it was at least an hour of peace with an 18-month old on the plane. Priceless.

I know how you feel. With Brooke we have the rule that she only watches the car DVD on rides that are 30 minutes or more, but I've already started using it with Summer to get her to buckle up with less stress. I tell ya; I'm asking for it.

So fun to see Velzy so cute and young and chubby! I think I'll quit going back now. Eden just woke up. Isn't it nice when they take a 3.5 hour nap?
