little friends

every day when we walk by the "caterpillar plant" i look for caterpillars- and today they were there!
i can't wait for more butterflies! i love that velzy appreciates cool little things like caterpillars and hope that both my girls will grow up to love all things nature as much as luke and i do.

Yes, great pictures. And I can always appreciate little girls who don't scream and run away at creepy crawlies! Your kids are great!

haha, steph's comment cracks me up! i have been trying to find a crownflower tree to locate some of those little critters so i can show my kids the process of changing from caterpillar to butterfly. to do the same thing you did a couple months back. they would love it! and i love your pictures!

RAD pics, and I caught a caterpillar this weekend, and I think I fed it the wrong kind of leaf. It died....

i think i may be too weak to be your friend....seriously GROSS! That was my first impression, and that is why you are such a way cooler mama!
They are so fat! whoa! not that them being skinnier would make it any more comforting to me. but please more pictures of insects so I can stop being jealous of your wonderful life! :)

this was my favorite when I was a kid, and I still thenk they are some of the coolest looking things ever. It's so hard to resist taking them home and keeping them until they become butterflys.

We found a ginormous caterpiller in our yard today, and I thought of you. It was green and looked totally fake! My kids were obsessed with it, but it escaped before I could capture a photo...unless Eva ate it, which is possible, but really gross to think about. BUT, yes, please come over this week! Tuesday or Thursday since I work every other day...I hate that I have to, but it's what has to be done! The kids will LOVE the chickens! And probably the bookmobile too.
