laughing on the inside.

i was just going over some of the moments i enjoyed today in my head.  i would have laughed out loud, but luke is not here to laugh with so i am laughing on the inside.
here are some of my favorites:
- driving to the beach velzy singing at the top of her lungs "there was a farmer had a dog and bingo was his name-o, B-I-N-G-O  B-I-N-G-O  B-I-N-G-O and bingo was his name" and she did this faster and faster and faster, over and over and over till she could no longer spell bingo and lost herself.
-ivy singing in her carseat and velz staring at her then saying "ivy, i love that pretty song that your singing"
-coming in from surfing and feeling cooler that kelly slater cause i have two little blonde beach babes and one cute boy who run to see me and give me hugs when i get out of the water.
-walk past a dead fish and velzy tells me- confident voice- "a lobster or a crab killed that fish." two seconds later, nervous voice- "do you think there are any lobsters or crabs in the tide pools?"
-playing at tide pools we find a dead pencil urchin and play with it's broken body, velzy and ivy smell their hands and freak out.
-velzys tummy hurts, she has to go #2.  take her in between two rocks to go, all i hear as i see ivy scaling a quite large rock 50 feet away is her explosive diarrhea.  which child do i tend to first?  guess i should run to ivy, who is playing queen of the mountain scaring tourists nearby thinking she is going to kill herself, then run back in time to throw some sand over the green mess in the sand and we are on our merry way.
-velz and ivy wrestling on the beach, body slamming each other and laughing.  ivy walks around with half of her face completely covered in sand for the rest of the afternoon.
-both the girls have apples and are munching on them as we walk down the beach.  ivy drops hers so i take it to the water to wash it off.  velzy, a.k.a. copycat queen, purposely drops hers in the sand and takes it to wash it off, but looses her grip and the apple is taken out to sea.  weeping and whaling follow, till the apple is recovered.
-30 minutes later- the girls make their way up to some bushes and play for a bit while i lay lazily in the sand.  i decide i should go see what they are up to.  i find velzy squatting with another green mess underneath her and ivy with a mess in her suit.  run to water to rinse.
-i attempt to get the girls to take naps on their towels. ivy kicks me off mine and on to the sand where she pushes my head down into the sand saying "nap" and gives me slobbery kisses and says "love you." every time i pick my head up she returns to push it down and put me to bed.
-on the drive home sing old macdonald over, and over, and over until velzy gets very upset that the sounds old mcdonald's whale makes sound like it is crying.  why is it so sad?  why does the whale cry?  why don't the use words?  note to self, work on whale noises.

i seriously love our adventures.

I love to picture what other mom's are doing with they're days. Thanks for not glamorizing it a bit because that's what the real mom's and real memories are made from. Almost every night Micah and I put ourselves to sleep talking about all the cute and not so cute moments with the little's and smiling about it all. We have the good life.

Nothing better than a recap like this to check in on...especially since I thought your blog was still on hold.

You've got two cute girls. I love that they are friends.

We're laughing on the inside with you. You are a cool mom. I want to teach my kids to wash off sandy apples in the ocean.
