little women

because i can't press pause and enjoy these little women at the ages and stages that they are at forever i have to blog about it.  i love lots of things about these little ones right now.  i will spare you the negative little things like of ivy's ear piercing screech, hitting problem and lack of listening skills or velzy's whine and not being able to hold her shi-shi till she gets to the potty when she first wakes up and after naps.  opps, didn't mean to just write that.  i know that i live on east street right now and that's why i really try not to dwell on the minor annoyances, cause that is all they really are is minor.  and now, on to the good stuff...

the little bug:
she's cute, like really cute.  but she does not smile for the camera, ever.  she will have the best, hugest grins and as soon as there is a camera around she shuts them away.  doesn't matter, they are seared into my brain and i will never forget her grin.  she is adventurous and is a wonderer, loves to just go.  i spend a lot of time chasing down the little midget with the blond mullet flowing behind her who is obsessed with shoes, especially these rain boots which i love:
she loves to be thrown, sometimes if she is grumpy i will take her outside and throw her up in the air and the insta-smile appears.  and she is still really into the water, she charges which i love, but it scares me too.  she can take a lickin and keep on tickin though, nothing much phases her.  but she is still a snuggler, the only time she sucks her thumb is when she is being snuggled or is going to sleep.  it's actually really cute.  she loves to climb and breaks into random solo dance sessions all over the place, which make me laugh so hard.  and just wants to be like velzy in any way that she can.
oh look, a little smile.

the little mamma:
velzy is a little momma.  she loves to take care of things and is really aware of feelings and is super sympathetic, it's sweet.  i am convinced that she could pretty much live without me, except for the fact that she needs me to wipe her bum, she can do it all on her own and take care of ivy.  she wakes around 6 everyday and stands at her door and yells "mommy!"  which wakes up her sister. i am still looking for the snooze button that i could have sworn i had on her order form, haven't found it yet.  cleaning is fun to this kid, strange.  she is obedient, most of the time.  when i ask her to come she will yell "ok mom, me coming!" and she actually comes running, which i wonder how long that will last but i will take it as long as she will do it.  she loves her friends, a lot. and although she could sit and watch movies all day, she loves to be outside and is so into animals.  we go on gecko hunts with her amazing gecko catcher dad and she loves to catch sand turtles, as well as any other creeping thing.  we have funny little conversations, like how she tells me how little tractors are "so tute" (cute, c's often times sound like t's).  she has the most amazing memory, it's crazy.

like i said there is a lot to love right now, i will think of 20 things more to add as soon as i go to bed.  like how yesterday i was putting them down for their naps and ivy laid on velzy's bed so i just let them both lay together to see what would happen.  after leaving and going outside to spy on them through the window it was fun to watch them both get up and giggle, wrestle for a minute then both go grab books and read to each other.
they just make me smile (most of the time).

i am so impressed with people who have "older children" (like older than mine by more than a year). i feel like you know some cool secret that i will find out one day. but then there are people like you, who also have a younger child like mine, leading me to wonder how you handle both and do it all! there are a lot of people who have two plus kids, but i am glad i get to observe you and other friends who have two plus kids and do it right. anyway, this was fun to read.

oh yeah, and i am SO SAD that you have to go to the dentist... try come after?

I LOVE the picture of you throwing Ivy in the air! She is so high up there! I use photoshop CS3 to edit my photos...I'm just taking them for fun, not trying to start a business or anything. However, if someone offers to pay me, of course I'll say yes! And I did :) I take a lot of pictures thats why I started the photography blog, so I can spare people that look at my private blog, LOL!

You have the cutest little girls. I love the blond mullet...Blair sported one of those about two years ago. Velzy's hair is adorable. You are so good at writing the details down.
As for my free time...it's amazing how fast those hours go by and it's time to pick them up again! But I do like grocery shopping or going to Target by myself!!

How have I missed so many fun posts? Those pictures of the shark and the rainbow are incredible. I love what you wrote about your girls. I try to remember that the annoyances are small and all the rest is the payoff. I love how they play together, too. Great post.

I loved this post! So great to get to know your little girls. I never would have guessed Ivy had the mullet she does...I guess I've never noticed it in the other pictures (or maybe photos are just usually head on?). Regardless, you have two super cute girls (love the blondeness!).

I love that they are good friends! how cute is that?
Did they end up sleeping together? or did you put Ivy in her crib?

Velzy and Ivy are two super cute girls, with fun personalities! When I have two I hope they can be good friends like yours are.

This was so much fun to read, I didn't realize how similiar Kali and Velzy's personalities are. It is fun to learn things like this about Kali's friends. SOO CUTE! And Lala was in my pics, she lives right across from Waimea and teaches and Kahuku elementary school.

It's a smart thing to stop and see the cute little kid(s) in front of you because they won't be so small and sweet forever...something I'm TRYING to do (but sort of failing at since I've become a HUGE nester this prenancy!). I wish I could push pause like you said, but I guess we can't so we have to do our best at recording those sweet moments...and you do a great job at that!

Man you get a ton of comments Ash!!!
I love Velzy's haircut. It's so sweet & sassy. I wish I could meet your girls so I could love them too! I do, but from a far at the moment. I love that Ivy won't smile for the camera. What a funny girl.
No tattoos... I'm pretty sure they frown upon doing that to pregnant women.
