the blacks

one of the best things that happened over the holidays was the black family- my buddy lauren, her hubby david, and baby kaia- were sealed in the san diego temple. by some stroke of fate, or divine intervention, call it what you will, we have been in california this last year both when lauren went through the temple for the first time, and for their sealing! happy days! it was a really cool sealing, i had never seen a baby being sealed to it's parents and that was so cute and brings home the meaning of what it is you are doing when your family is sealed together for time and all eternity. the sealer was, of course, a really cute little old man and i know that i got a lot out of what he told lauren and david before they were sealed, he said some things that really meant a lot to me and i am sure they do for the black fam as well. it was a grand event! i am so white, gotta get out of virginia- oh, was i typing that?
anyways, it is junk to live so far away from your friends- especially when you all have kids and want to play with each other, so since we are on the topic of lauren and her family i figured i would throw in a picture of velzy and kaia when they got together for their every 3 or 4 month get together. luckily velzy has warmed up to kaia, for some reason velzy was mean to her in the past, maybe she likes her now that she has more hair??? this is the two of them and my dad watching the carousel at the spectrum, and the one below is later that night. such cute little buggers, i wish our meetings weren't so far and few between!

How fantastic. That is so cool that you got to be here for their sealing. Let me just say that the first picture is so great of everyone. It could be a picture on the SD temple brochure. "If you are beautiful, come stand here with us." Pretty pretty.

Don't worry about being white, Ash. You will save your skin and not have to worry about having things taken off your body.

Oh, and that pic of EB holding the girls up at the Spec, so, so cute.

Blogging while breastfeeding is my only talent. I do suggest some special books, toys or, curse me for saying, videos while you are nursing Baby Girl. I know how deprived you were as a child from the whole tv thing, but trust me, it's not the worst thing in the world. The worst thing would be your 19 month old teetering on the kitchen counter while you are trying to nurse the babe. Trust me. I don't want to scare you, so I'll leave it at that. I'm sure Velzy is much less psycho than my Ethan was at 19 months. You'll be fine.

So what exactly do they do when they seal you! Or maybe you can't say? Forgive me for my ignorance, I just love learning about new things.

You all are really so attractive!

Wow! What a great picture of all of you. I just spent a day with Lauren and Melinda at Disneyland (we would've taken you if you were still here because she got free passes) and I must say that she is so nice, funny, and gorgeous! Not fair! There's something about blondes! She told me about her sealing day and that's so cool that you got to be there! We miss you! She said you guys might move here soon or maybe she's just wishing that????

You look so tiny! Where's the pregnant belly?!?!?!! Looks like you had a fun time. I love warm weather around the holidays. It was nice to be in Vegas again for Christmas. All this cold weather is not my thing.

Jen--- being sealed is one of the things that we do in the temples of our church, and it is-to me- one of the best things about our church- we are "sealed" for time and all eternity to our family...which basically means that we will get to be together forever as a family if we live righteous lives. this is one of the greatest comforts in life- to know that i will get to be with the people i love the most forever...i could go on and on, but it is really cool.

Yes, thank you Tonya for being my friend, but please stop being so nice to me because I keep feeling guilty for not being a good friend to you.

Miss, thanks for calling me lovely.
