tractors, generators, and jack hammers

we are doing a lil addition on the side of our house. we love love our house but really wanted a garage, the constant salt air and wind do a number on cars and we don't have much storage. we also don't have much hang out room up-stairs (which is where our kitchen is) and so we added some hangout space above the garage. it's gonna be really cool and we are stoked on it. progress has been really fast, especially since it has only really been worked on for 5 days or so.
the girls, especially ivy, love to watch the guys work. she will sit an watch for long periods of time, construction workers make great entertainment.
step 1: tear up a chunk of concrete:

step 2: new concrete
step 3: frame
and that is where we are at now, actually the windows are in upstairs and the tyvek looking good wrapped around the upstairs too. hopefully more progress to be made this week. and hopefully my ear will get all better too. today it has been bugging me again, it's not crazy pain but enough to remind me it is not better yet. i swear this is the ear infection from hell.

Nice! And we finally got to see photos of your place. How nice it'll be to have even more space...and a garage, a dream of mine. Can't wait to see the finished product, which sounds like it'll be really soon. Good luck with that ear. Sorry it's being such a pain.
