home sweet home

so, i didn't really get on the computer much the last 2 weeks- well, except the weekend when our mortgage guy decided we needed to close a month early on the house we just bought and i was not home and got to do a whole lot of emailing. wait, i don't think i even mentioned we bought a house. we did. we are stoked. anyways, what i was saying was, i realized that i didn't miss not being on the computer. not really at all. it was nice to get on for a 5 min, check emails and walk away. i still want to blog regularly, and my mom might kill me if i said i was going to quit, but i hope to waste more time doing other things than interneting- have you noticed i go through these phases a lot and always blog about them? i know, i am dumb.

so anyways, we are back home. yesterday the girls and i arrived at good old LAX around 4 to find our flight delayed. when spent some quality time thrashing a burger king and playing uno at our terminal. then we got on our plane. next, there was a problem with it's electrical and we had to get off. the next 4 hours were spent watching 15 crazy kids run in sugar high circles around our terminal- oreo's and cheetoes were flying all over the place, as well as crayons and a basketball. it was actually pretty funny and the girls were having way too much fun to be annoyed at being stuck. and we got free food. gosh, i really love free food. toasted turkey and avocado sandwich with a green smoothie from some bakery there really hit the spot around 10:30. around midnight we got on a new plane and headed back to hawaii. girls slept the whole time- velz on the ground, ivy on our seats, me and my restless leg syndrome tried to cat nap here and there. 'twas a long night but not bad. we are happy to be home.

now that we are home, we have this weekend to move out and clean. our house is nasty right now. nasty, nasty, nasty. our windows don't exactly close and it's been really windy and rainy and everything is grimey. not looking forward to cleaning tomorrow, but like i said before we are happy to be moving to a nice lil home of our own. we actually are not really moving in to it until later in the week, but there are girls moving in here on monday so we are outy tomorrow.

anyways, i guess i just felt the need to voice something on the www, so here is my post. maybe i will catch up on all the fun we had in california in a week or so! and now off to bed, for hopefully a few more than 4 hours of sleep (and yes, it is 8:46)... good night!

welcome home! such an adventure and that sandwich is making my mouth water here at 9:19PM- maybe it's best enjoyed at night?

internet breaks are such a good thing.

and i think many of us go through that feeling so you are not dumb. or maybe i am dumb too? at least you are not alone.

i am running in the morning and then going to wahiawa for a first birthday luau and then i will be back and i want to help out- even if it just means taking the little girls and having them chase ambrose around the block seven times. i'll do it.

Sounds like an interesting journey home. I'm happy the girls were so good for you...I'm sure if it were me I would have been really frustrated, so I'm happy it was you :) And wow, CONGRATS on the new house!! You'll have to post photos. That's SO exciting! Good luck with the move. Stinks that you have to do it in a rush, but hey, the end result is worth it.

i think I have been on a permanent internet break...since like september or whenever student teaching started getting supe time consuming. And now I keep saying that I need to get back into the cyber world. But I am enjoying all the other things I am getting done!

Glad you guys are back! And that is exciting that you are moving in so soon! Let me know if you need a helping hand
