the beard

luke is growing his "grad student beard"  apparently all grad students do it?  i don't remember him having one last time he was a grad student.  we might not have become us if he had.  this cute picture was taken before luke and velzy went on their first daddy daughter date to the movies to see "earth."  velzy was so excited, she got ready and came to the top of the stairs and said sweetly "dad, i'm all ready!"  ok, you had to be there, but it was so cute!  apparently there was a lot of soda and popcorn involved and they both had a great time.

i got an email with this picture last week citing his inspiration:
maybe it's not that bad after all... i really need to go get him a headband and wrist thingys.  and a suit like that while i am at it, i love luke wilson.
and luke moffat too, for that matter.

What a great Dad! How did Velzy like the Movie? I heard kids have been coming out of the theaters crying because some animals get eaten or something like that?Probably just a bunch of sheltered kids. I don't know though...I haven't seen it yet.

Aw, that picture makes me want to watch The Royal Tenenbaums again...one of my favorites!

What a sweet Daddy Daughter date. And I was wondering about that beard...yes, I've heard you aren't TRULY a grad school student unless you have one. The Luke's are looking quite similar these days!

Sam would be so proud! He still goes through his beard days.

That is hilarious. I love that Luke took Velzy on a date. That is so sweet. I am excited for those times. When we first moved into our ward here Matt wanted to go to church with handle bars like Hulk Hogan. He got ready for church that way, but I made him shave it off. He said that way he was sure to never get a calling. It was pretty funny though.

oh yeah, and if you end up buying him the wrist thingys and other related accessories, just make sure he is never alone when elliot smith's "needle in the hay" is playing... could be dangerous. :)

Not a fan of facial hair, well kinda of sord of not really. My pop's has a mustache as long as I've known him and when he tried to shave it off he looked awful! Maybe you just got to get used to it. Anyhow Daddy daughter dates are the best! I loved it when my pop's would take me to a new hole in the wall restaurant in Oahu. Good times. Good job Luke for being a fun dad.

Micah has been on again off again with the facial hair- no schooling in this house though. I think we're actually getting more dumber, so good job Luke.

I love Daddy date- we of corse don't call it that when it's Micah and Taj, but they are the best!

He can totally pull that off. And I'd love to go to the beach with you and your mom this summer. The more hands the better, right? Are you going to be here a lot this summer? I hope so! Let's get the kids together to play!

that guy inspired me to name my next son Mordacai.

I'm pregnant with a girl. Christian is relieved.
