the final formal friday

senior prom

date: mr bradly donnahue
dress: where do we start? a two piece princess dress? puffy full skirt combined with an open back top- amazing. i think princess dresses were really in my senior year. none of my dresses were ever puffy so why not go all out for prom, right? i got the skirt and could not find a top that i liked (sounds familiar of all my dresses huh?). one random night my mom, dad and i were are macy's and walked through the formal section and my dad picked out that top. wow. i am pretty sure my mom didn't approve of the lack of fabric used in the making of the top but she couldn't say anything cause my dad picked it out.
other magical details: this final formal of all formals was rad.brad and i had been good friends since our freshman year so it was cool to go to prom together, i think we had been plotting it our whole senior year. dance was cool but the activities leading up to the dance were what made the night fun. let's start with dinner- we got pedro's. actually we drove though pedro's then took our food to t-street and ate on one of the benches above the beach and watched people having sun surfing while we were all dressed up. it is so random that i remember everything so good- promise i don't live in the past. i just know that i won't remember this stuff someday and will wish i did. so, i remember we were driving all crazy and air guitar/drum playing on the freeway and i was dying of laughter. we got a little sidetracked (surprised?) on the drive and ended up at angels stadium. so, we got tickets and watched a ball game.

it was so fun, we sat in the family seating and there were all these little girls who kept coming to look at my "princess dress" and a bunch of little girls came up to me and told me i was pretty- so cute, i can totally see velzy and ivy doing something like that now. after the ball game we went to the dance. we danced we had fun with all our friends and then we went home? i can't remember what we did after, bit i don't think it mattered cause we had done so much before the dance. i am sure that was fun too.

my two best-est friends

i just realized i was wearing rainbows. and i dig that he had on vans.

helium and hubba:

I am sad too! You make me wish I had taken pictures at my formals. I always thought they were a waste of money.
DARN it for hindsight!
Not that my pictures would have been as cool as yours. My parents would have freeeeeaked at that dress, but you look hot.
I'm also realizing. You look exactly the same as you did in h.s. In a good way. How did you do that, Mrs. 2 kids?

Thank you for rocking the 2-piece dress! Those were so in in the year 2000 right? I like Steph's idea of passing on the torch of formal fridays to someone else. Your pictures and stories have been great! Will miss these blasts from the past for sure!!

Hey Ash,

My friend told me that blurb supports blogger again! I wonder if she meant from a long time ago. I am going to check it out. I will be so bummed. I don't know of any other website that does it, do you? We'll research it together.

I forgot to tell you how much I loved your SF pictures. Dave and I went there before Trent was born and always say it was the best trip we've ever taken (well, we don't take that many, but we thought it was pretty awesome!). You are a really good photographer too!

saying good bye to formal fridays is like saying goodbye to a dear friend. i loved all of them.

maybe i'll have to dig up my classy photos when im home this summer. california formals and proms have a look all their own!

Well that one didn't bring so many laughs. You guys had such a fun time & look so cute! Maybe you & Luke could just start posing for Formal Fridays with tacky stuff. Or you could track down Luke's formal photos.
