so long, farwell

bye california.
i will miss you and your dry air, mi familia, sea-weedy smelling beaches, prop 8 stickers (vote yes please!), convenient shopping (target of course), friends, yogurtland, beautiful smog sunsets and all the other goodness that come with being in california.
see you next year.
actually, see you all of next year.
i am pretty sure that i didn't mention that there was a chance we might be moving to redlands, ca for 2009. but we just found out that we are going to be coming for sure so i am mentioning it. luke is going to go back to school to get another masters. if one is good, two are better, right? there were lots of hoops that had to be jumped through, lots of waiting and praying and we were really wondering if everything was going to work out, but it has. school starts in january so we will be packing our suitcases and coming back for an extended visit- 11 months to be exact. i/we are really excited. it's gonna be fun and hard work for luke, but it's really going to be a lot of fun. we can't wait for beach camp outs, road trips, hangin with the billings side of our family, a central america surf trip, living in student housing, mexico, san fran, getting together with all our friends who live in (and visit) the golden state... like i said we are really looking forward to this next year.
and now, a 5 1/2 hour plane ride back to paradise.
aloha.

good luck on the airplane ride--i wish for you contented, sleepy kids that snuggle up and fall asleep for many many hours and then wake up happy with the toys that they have to play with for the last 5 minutes of the plane ride. hope we can see your fam in the san fran part of your cali trips.

Ash! I am excited for you! I would LOVE to move for 11 months, then come back, then go, then come back. I'm always torn between these two places: Cali and Hawaii! Ah, I love them both and always will! Congrats on school and glad you're coming back. See you soon!

Brady and I just left Cali myself. It's so funny how beaches have such a different smell to them.

WoW congrats on school Luke!

Well now I'm even more jealous. You get to move between Hawaii & CA! And not just CA, but northern & southern CA! Who gets that!? Lucky kids! Good luck with every thing. Maybe though after January we'll have more of a chance to see you since there isn't the ocean in between anymore.

I can't believe you are really moving back. You seem to be made for Hawaii! We will be glad to have you guys back. Good for him getting a second masters. Chad is still working on his bachelor. It feels like it will be forever!

i agree with megan, how fun to go from hawaii to cali and back, (even the change up and move with kids might not be the best) what fun experiences! hope to see you in cali!
