-so, i am sorta totally obsessed with making new headers with my favorite pictures these days if you can't tell.  anyone need a new header? i love making them- and lauren please call me- what are you busy these days?

- we took over 130 pictures on friday and saturday and i want to blog them all.

- i am still obsessing over these fabrics and have decided to make a quilt for velzy for her birthday with the browns, oranges and blues (no way it will be done by october though).  i have been spending ridiculous amounts of time looking at cool quilts on flickr- so far my faves are this one, this one, and this one.  decisions, decisions.  which one do you like?

-i swore that i would not blog while the girls were awake but ivy is asleep and velzy just wants to watch "mouse movie" aka ratatouille, and i can't handle watching it again, so here i sit.

-watched a good movie last night- son of rambow.  brilliant (gotta say it with a british accent).

-coco-krispies rice-krispie treats rule.

-we have waves- real head high fall waves!- can't wait till 4 this afternoon to meet up with luke and go surfing.

-this little quote was in my sunday school lesson yesterday, and although i don't think that my 12 year olds really cared that much, i liked it:  "It's possible to make home a bit of heaven.  Indeed, I picture heaven as a continuation of the ideal home." (David O. McKay).  it makes me think about how as a mom at home i have a pretty big responsibility to make my home a little piece of heaven- which means i should probably clean my floors now, because i am sure heaven does not have hair and crumbs and grass on the floor.

-if you want to learn how to embroider leave a comment, call or text me and i will get ahold of you.  i think i am going to teach some of you tomorrow night and if anyone else wants to come it would be fun.  i have lots of stuff that you can use to learn if you don't have any.

i wish you lived here to join the quilting club we are starting! i looked at those freespirit fabrics when they came out and LOVE them. my fave of those flickr quilts is the "sprout" one on the clothesline. i can't wait to see what you make!

Poor little naked Velz! One day she won't be too happy you posted that one. As for the quilts, I like the first and last, the second one doesn't look like it would hold up to toddler abuse. And I had to leave you with a quote Brooke left me "My home is clean enough to be healthy, but dirty enough to be happy." So don't feel bad about skipping the floors and heading to the beach!

i cant decide which quilt I like the best. I just think you should do one that has big pieces of fabric in it, so you can see the mermaids.

I love your new header as usual. did you upgrade our account to get more fonts?

Embroidery class tomorrow sounds great!

A... I would love to learn to embroider (however you spell that). Whenever you can fit one more person in. Although I am not available till after 9 on tuesday(husband at school)
b... I love all the quilts. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them, so good luck on those decisions. They are all so different. However I think I liked the one with big squares, but that might be just because I liked the aqua colors of the fabric. My suggestion is to take into consideration the scale of the print on the fabric you are using and then may your decision from there.
c... I love your new photo at the top of your blog page (not sure what the correct blog term is for it).
d.... Am I allowed to leave a message this long?

Oh.. and E...
I don't think there would be any children in heaven if there was not food, grass, and whatever else is always on the floor. Oh ya! Hair. ;-)

I'm always up for a new header Ash. I love, love, love Velzy's hair. Do you think you could give it to me?
I'm excited to see your quilt so hurry up! I like the 1st one the best, although I'm sure you could make them all look cool.
Enjoy the waves!
Taj is obsessed with Ratatouille too. He says, "Rat! Rat!" when he wants to watch it.

I love all your new headers. It makes coming to your blog extra fun...to see some change. But, this one is especially cute. V is so so cute in that bikini.

I LOVE that quote. I'm putting it up right now.

And Ashley, would you ever consider making something (a quilt) for other people if I bought the fabric and paid you for your time? I am obssessed with the bobby hairpin. I've worn it daily since getting it, just adds a bit of "fun" to a drab outfit.
