he woke me up before 6 (am) and of course i was not ready (still in my undies and had terrible morning breath), so he loaded my board, turned on the baby monitor and woke up the baby sitter next door (who needs a whole post dedicated all to how great she is for babysitting multiple early mornings a week so luke and i can go surf together, but would be embarrassed by that so i will just say a huge THANK YOU SO MUCH CONNIE! right here), and waited in the truck.
then off to chuns and piddlys. it was super glassy, small but fun, and really quiet and peaceful. after i had my fill of the fun little rights on the inside of chuns i paddled up to piddlys to play with luke on some lefts and we had it all to ourselves- just the occasional honu popping up to say hello.
who needs date nights when we get date mornings like this all the time?

Thats perfect!!! and to answer your question... no one needs them if you have that!
Yeah we are totally BFF's!!
My daughter starts preschool next week, 2 days, 9-12!! My husband made his schedule so we can have those mornings to surf, play tennis, eat breakfast, and who knows what else! Ha! Ha! Hawaii one day, they offered my hubby Dukes in Maui (opening soon) we said no, with the kids definitely Oahu!!
p.s.- small world how do you know auntie Jane Moysa?
that's so awesome. i threaten doug that we need time ALONE together for our marriage to WORK. which is so true, right?? once in a huge, great while he takes that to heart and ACTS on it. you guys have that one down, so nice.
that sounds really fun! glad you guys get date mornings.
THAT IS AWESOME!!! I NEED AARON TO READ THIS!!!! give him some ideas:)
Micah and I get dates, which are important no matter what it is, but if we had to pay for another movie and dinner (so cliche and getting expensive'fattening) we would start calling our date "night" off. Time together in nature, especially if it's surfing makes the time so quality. Thanks for the beautiful mind picture.
we're having a little hangout at our house this week- see my blog for details :)
Sounds perfect! You describe such a beautiful Hawaiian morning. I think you two are soulmates =o)
You seriously live in la la land. jealous. P.S. Go team brown eyes!
i don't have my surfer translation book by my side, but I think you had a GREAT date morning. ;)
you guys are love birds, its so sweet! very good of you to capture this moment in time.
Wait...what's a date again? Hmmmm...what's a husband for that matter? Yeah, we see a lot of each other... BUT, our kids DO go to bed by 7:00pm, so we do get about three hours to ourselves every night...chips and salsa and good movies! That's fun too! You are my hero. BTW, Bookmobile's busted, again. BUT, that makes for free time with you and me! Hooray!
How sweet, and how cute you two r! What a perfect match you two surfers are, and yes, I'm still jealous that you get to live in Hawaii!
