sucky teeth and my new (orange) crush

wednesday, i went to the dentist to have a tooth that broke when i was pregnant with velzy fixed (it has only been 3 years...). a few weeks ago when i went to have my teeth x-rayed for the first time in over 3 years the dentist said "you have found religion, your teeth look great!" and i was stoked because i have somewhat cavity prown teeth. so you can imagine my dismay while as i sat to have my teeth cleaned on wednesday, i was informed that i have 7 cavities (yes, you read that right. my teeth suck.), one of which may need a root canal. apparently my x-ray's "slipped through the cracks" last time i was there and the dentist didn't get a chance to look at them.
lovely.
i really do take good care of my teeth. really good care of them, i just like candy (which i am swearing off of for the rest of my life.). so dr. brown thought he would take care of the really bad one while i was there instead of my broken tooth. so i said a multitude of prayers hoping that "the decay" as they kept calling it had not reached the nerve and walked back to "the chair." the big guy upstairs helped me out big time and i don't think that i need a root canal. so far there is no pain in my tooth (good sign) and i go back after we return from california in july to get a permanent filling and have some other cavities taken care of.
the plan for the afternoon was that i would go take care of my broken tooth and then drive to town to pick up a new surfboard. however, after this depressing turn of events i didn't feel worthy of such a treat- or spending money on toys when i am going to have to spend a butt-load of money on my "decaying" teeth. so after calling luke a million times and even calling adam to see what he thought (i have really bad indecision), i drove to town and treated myself, actually luke treat me, he is the best. (one of the benefits of living in a small one bedroom apartment and having a semi-cheap rent is that you don't feel to amazingly bad when you splurge a little)
i think i love her and until she gets a name she will be known as "orange crush." now if i could just arrange for a head high summer north swell to come marching through these parts...

with the bad diagnosis of the cavities, i'd say that was very nice of your husband to treat you with the new board. it really is beautiful! i haven't been to the dentist in years, and i pray i have no cavities! but that just seems like very wishful thinking on my part...

oh my gosh, you got me thinking about how bad my teeth are! I'm so afraid to go to the dentist for fear that I'll need dentures. I haven't been in YEARS. You lucky duck, Orange Crush is awesome =). Now I like see some pictures of you shredding!

I have the same luck with my teeth. It is such a pain. Anyways, I got the cutest onesie in the mail today. I love it! Thanks so much. I am sure in future blogs she will be wearing it!

Glad to hear that you are still able to expand your quiver...it is a nice looking board and I hope that you are able to use it sometime soon. Yesterday it was pretty decent over at Lani's so maybe it will come over this side so you don't have to go that far.

As for your teeth, you are just like the rest of us...BUT you do have a sister that is able to make new ones for you if needed.

Is it the Dr. Brown from Temple Valley? Went to him my whole life. Told me this one:
What do tornado's and southern divorces have in common? Either way someone's losing a trailor.

Dr. Brown told me that one after I went in with a broken front tooth and looked like I was on Jerry Springer.
Orange Crush is a beaut! I hope to see her in action in a couple months.

Yes, some of us are born with crap teeth, and that sucks. Keli'i used to store food in his mouth when he was a kid, he never flosses and I'm sure he never brushed before me got married and he's NEVER had a cavity. Me, on the other hand, have a mouthful, even though I am soooooo meticulous! Aiken just went and my poor four year old has a mouth full of silver teeth! Ahhh! Crazy genetics. They suck! Why does Keli'i have perfect skin, perfect teeth, perfect everything, and I have a face full of freckles and bad teeth? Life's so unfair!

Love the board, by the way! Such a cool guy, your hubby! Maybe you should get bad diagnoses every so often...

That happened to me the last time I went to the dentist. He told me I had 9 cavaties and needed a root canal on one of them! Blah! I brush...I floss...how could that be?!?! So I got the root canal and it got super infected. After all of that am not too certain I really needed a root canal. I have learned always get a second opinion and never let your general dentist do them. Have him refer you out to some one that specializes in them. If they don't seal them right bacteria can get trapped in there and then a whole mess of problems can happen!

By the Way... I am not much the surfer but Brady is drooling over your board as we speak. If you see someone lurking outside your house one evening it's probably Brady trying to sneak a peak.

She's beautiful.
I'm so sorry about the teeth! That sucks! Ben's got bad teeth issues too. He had fillings filled a while ago & apparently the Dr. did it wrong & the cavities are rotting still underneath the filling, so he has to get them all taken out & redone!!!

Yeah, tooth decay is the worst thing that can happen to your teeth. You want it removed, but that's a difficult decision. I hope you're all smiles now that your teeth are fixed. I love the yellow surfboard, hehe.
