thoughs on a monday...

1. backyard camping rules. pitched a tent last night and slept in the moffat's backyard. ivy got kicked out after 10 minutes of trying to get her to calm down, it was just to exciting for her. she and velzy were sooo wound up. velzy totally body slammed her and she just laughs.
"ivy- go to sleep!"

2. i ordered 800 water balloons off ebay a few weeks ago. they were the key to potty training velzy. now we play with them at least twice a day for 45 minutes....if it makes them happy.
3. coming soon: tomatoes, peas, banana peppers, and some other stuff too.

4. i love it when the girls are happy to see each other in the morning.
5. thank you cards are the best. last week i took one of my laurels from mclean, va (who is going to school out here) along with her mom and our old bishop's wife out surfing. it was so fun even though i am the worst teacher. they left a super sweet thank you card on my door with some $ to go out to dinner. i felt like i should send them a thank you card for letting me hang out with them, they are the most amazing people, maybe i will.
6. new favorite place to eat: haleiwa eats. thai food, so good. luke and i had a haleiwa afternoon without the keikis for our anniversary on saturday. went shopping and took our time in all the surf shops, had a great dinner, and topped it off with shave ice- always from aokis not motsumoto's- small with ice cream: melona, lycee, and mango. thank you.
7. still the best movie ever:

You are amazing! You have to teach me how to grow veggies! I tried tomatoes, they died. Um... tried cucumbers/beans, I forgot to water them, and we live by the beach, so the salt bath probably didn't help! Hahaha. Anyway! Waterballoons... I love it, I'll have to try that! And camping is so fun! Oh, and sorry about today when you came by! I was SOOOOO tired (I just woke up from a 3 hour nap! woohoo!) And I was sooo out of it! YES. We MUST make Pani popo (sp?) YUM.... I will do the bread, and I think Mark may have a recipe for the coconut topping. YAY. Let me know what you think! Love your babies, by the way. :)

les- water ballons were her reward for going on the potty, not on my lap. and it worked really well.

Good eye with all those "in the moment" photos! My fav is the one of the girls touching heads!

Good thoughts, Ash!

Water Ballons! That's awesome. It's all about what motivates them and it's great that you figured it out!
We are planting our veggies this week, too. Good luck with yours - especially the peas - they don't like heat.
We camped in the backyard a few weeks ago - it made me crabby (hence no post), but Robert and the kids loved it.

Haleiwa Eats is my absolute favorite!!! such good food and really cool people... I have to tell you this story because i think you'll like it: a while back me and my friend got out of the water super tired and starving (the sun had just gone down... we decided to call haleiwa eats and ask if we could make a phone in order but eat there... so we ordered drove over there and when we arrived our food was all ready and sitting on the table with napkins over it and a little candle lit. it was really cool! another reason they are my favorite! glad you had fun!

i love the picture of the girls still up and luke passed out =). way cool that you are growing veggies!!! you totally make me homesick by eating shave ice at AOKI'S. I miss getting the li hing mui flavor.(I always went there instead of matsumotos--what was the big fuss anyway?). hope you have a great day!=)

i love your backyard camp out! i am looking forward to some more camping if it ever warms up around here!

i love when my girls get up in the morning and they are so happy to see each other. kawena wakes up and almost immediately asks for lala or "nana". of course they are always at school, but she always asks for them!
