14 days of love
day #3
i love a good quote. since it is sunday i think it appropriate to share some good sunday quotes, and since my quote journal is packed somewhere here are a few i have come across this last month:

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -marjorie pay hinckley

"we must know Christ better than we know him; we must remember him more often than we remember him; we must serve him more valiantly than we serve him." -howard w. hunter

"happiness comes from unselfish service. and happy homes are only those where there is a daily striving to make sacrifices for each other's happiness." -harold b. lee

"you can make a little heaven on earth right here among yourselves, if you want to; and you need not go anywhere else for it. Live your religion, and you will be blessed in time and all eternity." -john taylor

"the course of our lives is seldom determined by great, life-altering decisions. our direction is often set by the small, day-to-day choices that chart the track on which we run. this is the substance of our lives- making choices." -gordon b. hinckley

One of my favorite is by Marie Curie.

"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained."

It's a good pick-me up quote of I'm feeling down.

Another favorite, also from Marie Curie:

"You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for his own improvement, and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful."

I hope that you have a wonderful week!!
