the national zoo

since yesterday was ivy's four month birthday we had to do something big, i mean a girl only turns four months old once, right? so we went to the national zoo.the most exciting parts of the zoo were naturally the water sprinklers which are all over the place, eating popcorn, and the mini john deer tractors.
there were some animals too- ya know the usual- lions, and tigers and panda bears- oh my! along with some cheetahs, orangutans, elephants, prairie dogs, etc., etc. velzy really dug watching two orangutans wrestling, i think she could have watched them all day. ivy was pretty good too- i love the picture of her in the stroller where she looks like she is posing for the camera. we had a great time with a bunch of moms and kids from our ward. being there with them made me realize that i am really going to miss the friends that we have made out here. i can't wait until we move to a place and stay for more than a year and can enjoy the friends that we make for longer amounts of time!

oh, wait, i forgot the most exciting thing was this:yes, a grilled hot dog vending machine, what will they think of next? we have to go back so that i can get one for luke.

That is disgusting.

But Velzy on the other hand is adorable in the water pictures! If you do go back, let me know--I work right by the zoo and can meet up with you!

I love Ivy's chubby cheeks. She is so getting so big. That Zoo looked like so much fun. I love the picture of the Gorilla hiding.

How fun! It is cool that you have been able to visit so many "national" places while living there, don't you think?

The babies look so cute. What a great time!

i love that the hot dog vending machine says hot and fresh on it. how can a hot dog machine serve fresh hot dogs, impossible. my husband would want one of these in our home if i let him.

Please don't ever eat a hot dog from a vending machine again. But Luke can.

Ivy is getting huge! She's too cute.

You guys are so smart to take advantage of all of the great stuff in your area. Especially since you don't have much time left there. The girls are SO cute.

I hate to say it, but Stacy would definitely be eating a hot dog from that machine.
