instead of pioneer day celebrations around these parts we have "laie days", which always has a "big" parade and "lots" of candy. in all the years that i have lived here, i had never been to watch one of the parades, if i had known there was candy involved, i probably would have been here every year.
pioneer's hawaii style- please make note of the awesome cow pulling the wagon and the baby totally crashed in it's mom's lap.
luke's favorite- complete with surfboard on top and blow up pool in the backmy favorite(s)- those samoan's really know how to decorate a truck and trailer, these are two of the samoan wards "floats"velzy's favorite (she ate too much, of course. today she threw up on me, and said that it was because she had too much candy in her tummy yesterday....)
and, the little tree hugger (who also ate too much candy, but like her mom is not phased by taking in amazingly too much sugar)and sorry connie for eating the tootsie rolls, but they were really good.

that is a great picture of vz by the way... she is actually smiling! it may just be the bag of candy tho.

that looks like so much fun! and i agree, those samoans really know how to decorate! wow! you're girls are so cute!
We love a good parade and all the candy that goes with it! Looks like fun!
Hey Ash, James Elton remember him? well he sent me a message on facebook and he needed some help contacting someone. I gave him your number because I thought you could help out. I hope that's okay:) So expect a random call from James soon. Love yah!
how fun! its weird how your girls can be so different even when it comes to consuming candy huh? Mine are the exact same way! Older one can't handle it, little takes it like her mama- in bus loads.
Ahh, how I miss that parade and man they sure do throw out a lot of candy. Velzy are you sure you don't want to share?
yeah i saw it as we were driving out to a birthday and a small part of me really wished that I could stay for the candy. i've never seen it either. we always seem to be gone around parade time.
Ah memories. I've actually been in the "Laie days" parade a number of times. Gotta love the candy though...that's the best part.
Oh the parades. I remember them being almost daily when we lived in our box/palace. There was always a band cruising down Kulanui celebrating something. Oh the love...
adore velzy's bag ... did you make it??
steph-
won the bag on a friends blog- super cute huh?
